[PATCH]: ch03: A note to MS office users regarding keyword substitutions

What about something like this?

Keyword substitution is generally only suitable for plain text files. Plain text files are typically used for program source code, and for simple documents such as README files that accompany program source code or executables. A plain text file can be displayed in a terminal window using the cat command on a Unix-like operating system, and read by a human. Microsoft Office documents are generally not stored in plain text, and novice users should not attempt keyword substitution on those files.

Mike, My hope was to have an explicit message to the users who manage office documents with svn. They often are not aware of the binary nature of their documents and are suprised about the results of the keyword substitution or not aware about the dangers. I fear that these users wont probably not recognize that the warning of this added paragraph applies to them. regards Walter On 06.09.2012 16:52, C.
